Dear Plum Point Middle School Families,

            Welcome to the 2007 – 2008 school year at PPMS! 

            The Plum Point Middle School (PPMS) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is proud to be one of the active organizations in such a great school community.  The PTSA Board has been working hard to plan activities for this school year that will enhance our students’ experience.  We encourage each of you to become a member of the PTSA as one way to stay involved in your child’s education.  Just fill out the membership form and return it to your student’s homeroom teacher.

The PTA organization does many things for our children on a local as well as national level.  The National PTA, using growing membership numbers each year, has become a strong advocate for our children on issues that will create a stronger educational environment.

Here at PPMS, through the support of your membership in PTSA, we host activities throughout the year to help develop a positive community.  This includes:

• Organizing teacher appreciation in the form of Welcome Back Lunch, Open House Dinner, Holiday lunch, Teacher Appreciation Week and more to show the staff how much we appreciate the great job they are doing. 
• Enlisting several cultural arts programs each year to diversify the school experience. 
• Organizing volunteer efforts to support teachers as well as student events.
• Sponsoring dances, scholarships, school spirit wear, bookfairs, and student awards.

We have several goals for this year including raising the level of communication with teachers to identify any needs that could be met with our efforts.  We also plan to raise the level of communication with parents about upcoming events and how you can stay involved.
